Cleft conditions are one of the most common congenital anomalies here in the US that require specialized medical attention from the moment children are born. To date, there isn't a known method of preventing a cleft condition from occurring and for many parents, the cause of their child's cleft remains unknown. It is common for parents to learn of their child's diagnosis either at their prenatal ultrasound during pregnancy or at birth. Individualized medical care by a variety of specialists is often necessary from birth throughout development and into adulthood. Here are some ways you can help a family undergoing the oral cleft medical journey. All donations are tax deductible and support in ways you may never imagine!
